Botswana 40th Independence celebration at Nata Kgotla

Kids enjoy music on Botswana's 40th Independence.JPG
Originally uploaded by natavillage.

The staff at the Kgotla worked hard to prepare for this day.  Early in the morning people began blowing their horns in celebration of Botswana’s independence.  Activities will continue all day and into the night at the Kgotla.  The morning began with many speakers, choirs and dance groups.  At around lunch time the DJ music began and all the kids gathered around to listen to the music.  Food will be served and tonight there will be a beauty contest to crown Miss Independence.  Many of the professionals that call Nata home have come back from their posts all over the country to share the day with their families.
