Solar Keratosis is a skin disease that attacks light skin people in Botswana. Albino people living Botswana have it hard when it comes to medications for their skin disease, especially if you live in small villages with little or no medical access. With no transportation and money it is very difficult for a person to seek treatment. Natavillage has one case of Solar Keratosis; This young lady has suffered a lot growing up with Solar Keratosis. Being out in the sun is dangerous for her. With your donations we are able to send her to the city and seek professional help with a specialist. 

Youth Empowerment Workshop

 

Our set time to change the world is now was the theme for the two day workshop all Natavillage youth were welcome to participate, as well as anyone from the community who wanted to attend. During the two day conference held at Sua Community Junior Secondary School, the Nata youth participated in topics and discussions on BusinessAwareness and Opportunities, Youth Grants, Why is HIV/AIDS Prevailing in Botswana, Love, Relationship, Dating, Marriage and Family, Youth and Politics, and Crime committed by young adults. Speakers from Natavillage did an excellent job informing all the participants on their topics, as well as the District Aids Coordinator from Tutume Sub District. The workshop was a success especially among the young adults.

Helping the less fortunate

The Department of Social and Community Development along with the Nata Orphan Trust continue to help the needy and Orphans of Nata Village for their upcoming school semester. Sixty+ children were treated to a good morning breakfast and lunch on their way to Maun, a bigger village with lot's of shopping centers. Each child had the opportunity to pick 400 pula ( the equivalent of 100 U.S dollars) worth of clothing for the new school semester.

The weight station

Nata clinic makes sure that every child in the village is properly looked after by their parents. Every month the father or mother must visit the clinic to weigh their child. The government will give each family a food basket and baby formula if the child is in good health. Because the village is so isolated jobs are hard to find and travel is to expensive for families to support their children.
