Repairing a rondavel
Originally uploaded by natavillage.
Now that the heavy rains have finished, local villagers are making repairs to their rondavels. The constant rain beating down on the structure washes away the walls. The women must therefore combine sand, cow dung and some water and spread it on by hand. Adding this extra layer will prevent the home from cracking. The men are responsible for making repairs to the grass roof.
