Recent rains cause damage

The Nata river.

Nata has received unusually heavy rainfall this year.  Locals say that the Nata River has not flowed this strongly since the year 2000.  The rains have been a relief to farmers but have caused damage to local houses.  The mud houses often crack under the severe rains.  The Environmental Health Officer along with the Social Worker dispensed more than 20 tents to families that suffered damage to their homes.   

The wall on this rondavel was cracked from the heavy rains.  The wall will need to be rebuilt.
