This blog normally reports on the people of Nata village. But due to the village being represented at the Global Alliance for ICT and Development, I'll be featuring posts from the conference over the next two days and letting you know what I'm learning and how it can help the people of Nata village. We have wi-fi here and the server is so fast. I really wish we had this in Nata. The opening plenary took place in the large hall pictured above. Due to the various languages spoken we were given head sets where we could hear the interpreters and everyone could be heard. The opening speech was given by first lady of Egypt Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak. She shared a video of the International Youth Forum that was held in Egypt this year. At the evening reception I met a representative from Google, Mr. Luc Delany. During his session he encouraged young people to use all the power available to them via the internet to be heard. I discussed the Nata village blog with him and he said it was a perfect example of what can be accomplished using technology.
